Oh K! Colour Changing Scented Nail Varnishes

Hey guys, so I'm back again with another review of yet another really cute product from Oh k! this time I'm reviewing the colour changing scented nail polishes. So there's four nail polishes in the set, Sweet Peach, Vanilla Cream, Mint Ice and Cherry Blossom. When you first apply these polishes they just smell like ordinary nail polishes but after they have dried they do smell exactly like their namesakes and are very pleasant and thankfully not overpowering.

The packaging is cute and compact with a little piece of ribbon at the top to carry it around or hang it from somewhere should you need to. The nail polishes themselves are small which makes them perfect for taking with you on holiday or slipping into your handbag and come in very cute pastel colours that are ideal for Spring and Summer.

They require several coats though unfortunately as the consistency of the product is very thin but on the upside of this the polishes dry quick, so if your in a rush they are ideal. Another downside to the thin consistency is it marks easily, so for example if you dig your nail into another nail it leaves a dent or if you scratch something against it so you do have to be careful, although as somebody who spends a good chunk of the day with her hands in the water, I have noticed that it doesn't chip or peel away very easily when wet.

Now onto the colour changing..
To be honest when I first tried Mint Ice I was very disappointed as I didn't notice any colour changes whatsoever, even when sticking my hand in the freezer and hot water I couldn't really see any change. But I suppose I didn't know what to expect as there are no indications on the packaging to suggest what colour changes might occur. So cut to a few hours later (and with a very cold hand) I did finally notice my nails were (slightly) darker but the effect only lasted for a few seconds after removing my hand from the water. Now with the Sweet Peach polish I could tell the colour changes straight away and you could definitely see when my nails were hot or cold and the effects were really good because the longer my nails were I got a sort of French manicure effect as the tip of my nail would be darker (because it was colder) and the rest of my nail would be a very light baby pink due to being warm. The vanilla dream (Purple) was too dark in colour to show any changes to the nail polish so the only thing going for it is the lovely vanilla smell.  I have yet to try the last polish in the set but I will update here when I have tried it to let you know how I have got on.

Overall then these polishes are good fun and again I can't state how much I love the packaging to the Oh K! products but they do work as colour changing polishes. They are ideal for travelling with and for a quick colour change while your on the move or when you just fancy a change that doesn't take long. Due to the cute nature of the product they would also make wonderful gifts or stocking fillers for older kids or teenagers or big kids (like me)
